Advisory Meetings
Council has a number of Advisory Committees with membership open to specific interest groups as well as the general community.

Administrative Review Committee
The Administrative Review Committee is established under Section 229 of the Local Government Act.
The committee is made up of Elected Members. The role of the committee is to advise Council on applications relating to reviewable decisions as defined in Section 227 of the Act.
Art & Cultural Advisory Committee
The Art and Cultural Committee meet at 12.00pm on the third Thursday of each month to discuss the promotion of arts and crafts within the Katherine Region.
NEXT MEETING: Thursday 19th November 2009 12:00pm at the Civic Center Committee Room. All welcome.
Climate Change Committee
The Climate Change Committee meets at the Civic Centre as and when required.

Development Review Committee
The Development Review Committee has been established to consider and respond to development applications referred to Council by the Development Consent Authority. The Committee is made up of Elected Members.
Internal Audit Committee
The Internal Audit Committee has been established under section 10 (2) (b) of the Local Government Accounting Regulations. The Committee is made up of Elected Members and the appointed Auditor for the Katherine Town Council.
The Role of the Committee is to monitor:
(i) compliance by the council with proper standards of financial management; and
(ii) compliance by the council with these regulations and the Accounting Standards.
Showgrounds Advisory Committee
The Showground Advisory Committee meet at the Civic Centre bi-monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 5:30pm.

Sports Precinct Network Advisory Group
The Sports Precinct Network Advisory Group meet at the Civic Centre bi-monthly on the 2nd Wednesday at 5:30pm.

Tourism Advisory Committee
The Tourism Advisory Committee meet at the Civic Centre quarterly on the 2nd Tuesday at 6:00pm.
