The Katherine Town Council has many facilities that are available for hire.

Sport and Recreation
The Katherine Town Council manages a number of sport and recreation facilities.
The Sports Ground Complex houses the YMCA, the Swimming Pool, Tennis Club, four Ovals, Cricket, BMX Track, Basketball, Football and Soccer.
Sportsgrounds
Katherine Town Council strives to ensure that sporting and cultural facilities are developed and maintained in response to community needs and encourages and supports sporting initiatives.
The Katherine Sportsgrounds are a high quality multi-use facility created to service the needs of a wide variety of sporting activities.
Key components of the Sportsground are:
- Four ovals of which two are illuminated for night time use.
- BMX Track
- Basketball/Netball Courts
- Tennis Courts
- Skate Park
- Aquatic Centre
- Don Dale Centre
The Sportsground's are actively utilised for senior and junior sports. Coordination of the ongoing development and use of the facility is undertaken in conjunction with the Katherine Sports Precinct Network Advisory Group, which all users of the facility are encouraged to be a part of.

Showgrounds
The Showground is a major facility for the Katherine community and consists of:
- The main Showground Arena and Football Field
- Grandstand/Show Office/Change rooms
- Jim Jackson Race Course/Buntine Pavilion
- Stuart Memorial Hall
- Norforce Pavilion
- Horse Stalls and Cattle Yards
- Rodeo Arena
- Polo Cross Field and Model Aeroplane landing ground
The Showgrounds has a large central oval, a variety of sheds and outdoor areas, extensive parking, camping areas with ablution blocks offering showers, toilets and disabled access and a large grandstand with shower/toilet facilities. The Showgrounds is fully fenced with three entry points.
The facilities are available for hire year round, excepting the month of July when it is used for the annual Katherine Show. Horse and cattle stalls and some camping are available for hire from the Katherine and District Show Society who can be contact on Ph: 08 8972 1746.
Katherine Aquatic Centre
The Aquatic Centre is well equipped with an outdoor undercover gas BBQ & servery area,
several shade structures, tables & chairs, first aid room, toddlers pool, children's spray park, 14 metre long Ocean Run (inflatable pool toy), 50 metre swimming pool with a shallow depth of 1.2 metres and at it’s deepest 2.0 metres, canteen, male & female change rooms with toilet/shower & disabled facilities and plenty of parking.
